icad 2014 :: Index card a day Nos. 5 and 6

I have a couple of index cards to share with you today.

I am such a slacker. I have been so slow with taking and uploading my index card photos. It takes an hour or so for my computer to even acknowledge that my camera is even connected and that makes downloading pretty much a chore, so I try to do it as little as possible.

I am still playing with markers on these 2 cards. I really do need to get out of this rut and be creative with something other than just markers.

Another Monday post

Here it is, another Monday.

My short vacation is over and I am back at work. Which basically means that I won't have time to do anything creative until super late at night.

I had hoped to be super creative during my days off but instead I shampooed the carpet in my house.

It took me 3 days.

I am tired.

In fact, all the furniture is still pushed into one corner of the living room. I am secretly hoping that everything will be magically moved back into its proper place by tomorrow morning when I wake up.

Update: When I got home from work today, I walked through the door and every piece of furniture was already moved back into its rightful place. Gotta love that magical furniture moving elf.

icad 2014 :: Index card a day No. 4

I find myself still playing with markers when it comes to creating this year's index cards. For the most part, they're quick and easy to use and I really like the bright colors.

a Monday post

There has been absolutely no creativity going on around here for the past few days.

The in-laws came over for Father's Day yesterday. It sure does take a lot of time (aka days) to plan and prepare for one day of visiting. At least it does around here.

Hopefully, the creativity will return this week. It's a short work week for me (only 2 days, Yay!) because the remainder of the week I will be taking some vacation days. So until then all you get are some photos of cactus flowers.

icad 2014 :: Index card a day No. 3

Just a quick card done with Bic Mark-it markers. I bought these markers three years ago when I did my first ICAD challenge and they are still going strong. They are one of my favorite things to use on an index card and I am really surprised that they have not run out of ink yet.

it's growing

My Games of Thrones mystery shawl is growing and getting larger. I love to see the pattern emerge the more that I work on it. I really love the color of the yarn too.

Right now, I am smack dab in the middle of Clue #2. Right at the part in the pattern where things start to get kind of scary. At least that is what I have read on the forums. Plus, the knitting instructions just LOOK scary.

I have been so tired when I get home after work that I have put off knitting anything so that I won't mess up. I don't want to move onto the scary part yet until I am more focused and alert and also because I need to find some extra stitch markers. Lots of extra stitch markers.

I hope to spend at least some of my time knitting this weekend. That is if I can find some stitch markers. Maybe I should just go out and buy some. But then I would have to wait some more and I really don't want to put off knitting on this project any longer. Decisions, decisions.

icad 2014 :: Index card a day No. 2

I'm what you would call a late-night ICAD-er.

Creating an index card seems to be one of the last things that I do right before I go to bed. I am so tired by this time that I find it really hard to think of something simple to do. And since it is so late, simple is important. But then, I get started and what I thought would be a simple card ends up being not so simple.

The last couple of years that I played along with the ICAD challenge, I used some of the optional prompts. A lot of the prompts this first week are some that I have already done in prior years of the challenge, so they are just not working for me this year. Well at least for this week anyway.

So, here it is. Me, trying to be simple by using pen and ink.

icad 2014 :: Index card a day No. 1

It's that time of year again. Time for the index-card-a-day challenge

So, here it is....index card No. 1.

It's not super exciting, but it is something. I am embarrassed to say that I haven't even touched my crafty/art supplies since last year's ICAD. I really want to get my mojo back and I am so glad that June is here so that I can work on something art related.
