It's so squishy!

It's so squishy!

Garter stitch is so squishy and it's just perfect for a baby blanket. I absolutely love it!

To me, it feels like this project is working up quickly. So far, I have used 2 different colors and this past weekend, I added a 3rd (I plan on using 5 colors in all). It feels like it is going so fast but I seem to be completing one section of color per month. I really do hope this blanket doesn't take me 5 months to complete or else the baby may not be a baby any more.

Even though I am smack-dab in the middle of this project (and many others), I find myself trying to decide when I should start my next crochet project. Christmas will soon be here and I need to make a blanket for someone special.

Are you making gifts for the holidays this year?

  4. Ha ha! Squishy is definitely the perfect feel for a blanket.

You are so good to start crafting so early for Christmas. I'm so bad at planning this far ahead.

  5. I am thinking I will attempt to make some xmas gifts this year. I am thinking more of the recipes in a jar and candle kind of things though.

  6. Juli, do you think the duffers would be too warm for AZ?

Thanks Erika Jean. It may be considered one of the simplest stitch patterns but I really do like it.

  8. Hena Tayeb, Thank you. I am really excited about the colors. The blanket is for my cousin and I hope she likes the colors as much as I do.

Erica, I still have yet to start. I am really worried that I am going to run out of time. So many things to do.

Ag.perdew, I LOVE making (and giving) recipes in a jar as gifts. I did that a few years ago and as far as I know everyone liked them.

  9. Thank you Donna. I have been planning lots, it's the doing that I am worried about. I guess I just need to bite the bullet and start. Of course that would depend on me finally deciding on a pattern and color. lol

  12. Hello. So I just found your blog and have been enjoying perusing a number of your recent posts. But when I got to this one, I thought I'd mention to you that my church is doing something called Blue Christmas. We provide a service to acknowledge that many people end up having a rather blue Christmas due to life circumstances, loss and many other reasons. We offer a time when people can share their story if they like, light a candle to represent their loss and we like to give them a prayer shawl as a gift of comfort during the hard times. Most of them are knitted or crocheted by volunteers in the community. Would you be at all interested in participating in this effort through creating any shawls? Feel free to contact me at danieq@juno.com. And thanks for visiting MY blog too!

  13. New follower from the wednesday linkup. I love your blog! I am avid knitter and so I love seeing others who knit as well. I'm also on a baby kick since a good friend of mine is having a little girl in January. I can't wait to see this when it's finished :)
