Those poor neglected yarny projects

It has been awhile since I have posted a major knitting/crochet project update.

I have so many projects in process. New projects just keep getting started and the old projects just kind of sit there.

Remember The sock attempt? My first attempt at knitting a pair of socks? Well I did manage to finish one sock. I don't think I ever posted an update about that. I am also almost finished with the 2nd sock. I just have to finish knitting the actual foot part, then the toe part and then it should be all done.

Then there is the Saroyan. Yep, I am still not finished with it. I thought that I was almost done sometime around Mother's day (back in May). Then I realized that it was too short. Then I remembered....I bought 3 skeins for a reason. So, once I get the 3rd skein all wound up, I will be all set to finish it. Hopefully it will be done in time for Christmas.

Then there is my Flowers in the Snow blanket. I don't think I have crocheted a circle for this blanket since 2010. Yeah.....doesn't look like I will have time to work on it any time this year either. I haven't given up on it though. It will get done.

There are actually a few more neglected projects in my closet, but these are the top three. The three most likely to be finished within the next decade. There are a couple of UN-neglected projects that I need to finish before I can even think to work on these again.

How many neglected projects do you have in your closet?

  1. My mom has this thing where she gets things started and ALMOST finishes them.... and instead of finishing them she starts on something else.
She has done it my WHOLE life and it drives me BONKERS. I feel bad too sometimes because I nag at her to FINISH stuff.

I think because I've watched her NOT finish stuff.... I LOVE to finish stuff. I will stay up all night just to finish something so I can be DONE and show off my work ;-P

I do have one granny square blanket I've been working one for about a year (not quite) ... that is my "go to" when I have no projects going on ;-)

  2. Erika, that is so totally me! I always seem to start a new project right when I am almost finished with a project. A project that if I just sat down for an hour or two I could probably finish.

Quite a few of them were interrupted so that I could work on making something that would be given to someone else as a present, but once I finish making the present, I still never seem to go back and finish the personal projects.

  4. I love your socks - they look great! I'm the queen of unfinished projects - I like to have a few things on the go at once, I get bored if I'm only working on one thing at a time.

  5. haha you sound like me! I try so hard to finish one project at a time and I almost always move on to something else. I am trying super hard to stop doing that. They look really nice even though they are not quite finished. Thanks for stopping by my blog and following me, I am following you back.

  6. I found your site from Follow Me Wednesday. I knit in the winter time when I can't get outside to garden. I have started about 3 pairs of socks and a few shawls! I keep telling myself I will finished, but then get excited to try something else!
    Now a follower.

  7. Neisa, thanks for stopping by. :-)

Thanks Donna. I think boredom with just one project happens a lot in this house. Way too many projects and crafts and other stuff going on and nothing seems to ever get done.

  8. Ag.perdew, thank you. I don't think I have ever just worked on one project at a time. I would love to be able to do that but I don't think I know how.

Cynthia L. Me too! I get excited to start a new project. Finishing....not so much.

  9. I like the socks, perhaps you'll be needing them soon.

I started to embroider a sampler before my eldest son was born over 25 years ago. I'm going to try to finish it for the first grandchild, but it won't be for a while yet.

  10. How is it that it is so easy to start a project, but never to finish it?!! LOL! The ultimate dilemma.

  11. Thanks Anji. I hope I will need them soon. I am ready for cooler temperatures.

Oh.....you don't want to know how many embroidery/cross-stitch projects are hidden around here. Hope you finish yours soon. :-)

    Erica, I totally agree!
