Welcome to the 9th installment of my Year in Photos. I cannot believe another year is done. Of course, I say that every year. It was another year of very few photos and just like last year, I put them all together in a video along with my most played song for that month.
I have high hopes though that 2018 will be much better when it comes to taking more photos. I finally bought a new computer (good-bye Windows Vista!) and I am looking forward to maybe my computer actually acknowledging my big-girl camera now. I say maybe because I just bought the computer a couple of days ago and I haven't done anything with it yet. Hopefully, it doesn't take me too long to get used to Windows 10.
Thank you for watching.

2016: A Year in Photos
I have always posted my year in review posts after the year has ended. I don't like posting them in December because the year is not yet over. Who knows what will happen during the last month of the year.
Instead of my usual year-end photo in review post, this year I made a video showing most of the photos I shared online in 2016 and I also included my most played song for each month.
In January, there was the new Star Wars and we got mountain snow. I got to play with my new Keurig and FitBit One.
In February, I celebrated my birthday by getting a new kitten. She ended up being more of a shaved, young cat. But, she was still adorable! I had a super green thumb and visited what I think is the largest book store I have ever seen.
In March, I started coloring my first coloring book page since I don't know when. There was a lot of new kitty time too.
April brought a new kitty friend for Olive. Now there are two!
The month of May was filled with lots and lots of new kitty time. The newest cat was very sick and most of my time was spent dealing with that.
I spent June creating Index Cards and getting to know the new cats.
July was filled with lots and lots of rain. Oh and cats.
In August, I said goodbye to my high school drama teacher (he was one of my favorites). I got to go see Silversun Pickups in concert and took a lot of photos for The August Break project.
September was all work and rain and my wedding anniversary. Oh and cats.
In October, I colored some more and I voted. Not that it did any good.
November was filled with a lot of outdoor time and by outdoor time, I mean weeding. November had some awesome clouds. Oh and cats.
In December, I got new glasses. I do NOT like them. I didn't even share a photo of them, but I really needed to get that out there. They are not good. The World's largest Santa moved in next door and this year we decided to put up a Christmas tree. It didn't last very long at all.
Thanks for watching.

2015: A year in photos
Nothing says procrastination like posting an End of Year post for 2015 at the end of January.
I haven't turned on the computer since my last blog post. That's 42 days ago! Needless to say, blogging has not been the only thing that I have been putting off around here.
2015 was a bit of a blur. But here is what I remember...
January started with snow.
On New Year's Eve 2014 we said goodbye to my Cairo kitty. At midnight, on New Year's day, it snowed. It was a nice little happy moment on an otherwise sad day.

In January, I saw quite a few sunrises. I am not a person that is usually up before the sun. So to catch a sunrise is always a treat. For some reason it makes me feel like a grown up. And there you go, I am a grown woman who doesn't feel like a grown up. Sigh... maybe some day.

In February, my brother invited us to go Quading. It was fun watching the kids and I fell in love with all that wide open space.

In March, I went to one of the prettiest weddings that I have ever seen.

I also cut my hair. It was a pretty big deal really. The last time I had cut my hair was back in 2008.

In April, the husband and I went to the County Fair and we worked on our Selfie game. We still have to work on it but we'll get there someday.

In May, I caught the sunset any way that I could and I managed to keep a succulent alive for over a month! And so begins my addiction to succulents.

In June, I got my first iPhone. Of course, the first shot I took just had to be a sunset.

We also had two of our nieces come to visit. Lots of going out to dinner and out to the movies.

In July, I found my new favorite movie theater. Dinner and a movie all in reclined comfort.

Our new dining room table also arrived. It's the first table we have ever bought.

In August, we went shopping for a new front door.

And in September, it was installed.

September had some beautiful sunsets.

October was spent taking care of Cleo. She had been sick since January and just wasn't getting better.

Sadly, in November, I said good-bye to my sweet Cleo kitty.

And because I fell in love with succulents, in December everyone got one for Christmas.

One of the highlights of the year was during the Christmas/New Year's holiday. My sister came home for a visit and I finally got to meet her boyfriend. The four of us (and my brother) all went bowling. I had the best time!

2014: A year in photos
This year's update is a bit different than my usual year end photo update. Because I just couldn't stop myself, I took part in another 365 daily photo project. This would be my 4th one! This one was a bit different though because I ONLY used my iPod.
I took so many photos in 2014. I even took photos in addition to the photos I took for my daily photo challenge. My iPod is full. My computer hard drive is full. I have no space.
I do love having all these photos though. I love being able to look back and see what happened during the year. Especially since 2014 started and ended with taking care of a very sick kitty.
There are so many photos. I just couldn't pick a couple of photos for each month. So this year, I picked them all. Well, not really all of them. Just my iPod 365 photos.

2013: A year in photos
It's January, so that must mean it is time for my annual year in photos post.
2013 was a bit different when it came to photos. It was the first year that I had my iPod Touch camera. So that is where most of my photos for the year came from. The ease of downloading and sharing these photos, compared to the hassle of getting my computer to even recognize my DSLR, made the iPod Touch the best choice.
In January, I submitted my application for the CTR certification exam.
In February, it snowed!! In the desert!!!!! Really, it did!
March was super special. I passed the CTR certification exam! No more studying. No more worrying. I feel so grown up having letters that go after my name.
In April, I started using my new purse. It sounds silly but it was a pretty big deal for me. My Mom bought me this purse for my birthday in February and it took a couple of months to get myself used to the idea of using it. It is big and it is orange. It is so big that it needed a name. I call her BOP (Big Orange Purse).
In May, it was Spring time in the desert.
By the time June came around, Spring was gone and Summer had arrived. And boy was it hot! We had over 10+ days of 100 degree temperatures (at least 40 days by the time the heat wave ended).
One Saturday morning, I found myself awake early enough to watch the sunrise. Pretty big deal for a person who loves to sleep in. I am a huge fan of the sunset but the sunrise sure is pretty too. I probably should try to catch the sunrise more often.
In July, I was back to watching the sunset.
Long August days meant that I got out of work while the sun was still up.
In September, the husband and I took a vacation. We take one every year around this time. We didn't go anywhere. We just stayed home. For me, staying home is one of the best ways to spend a vacation.
In October, the sun started setting a lot earlier which meant I missed a lot of sunsets. Sometimes though, I was lucky and left work just at the right time. The desert really does have the best sunsets!
November was full of blue skies, rainy skies and whiny kitties. I worked a lot and got home way too late to catch the sunset or even the sun for that matter.
December was a busy month. I went to a baby shower, trained a new employee, got things ready for Christmas, took time off from work and then of course, there was the actual celebrating of Christmas. The last month of the year just flew by. By the time December was over, I was ready for a nap.
Well that was my year in a nutshell. I thought that 2013 was a pretty great year!
